Weld Testing

Testing of Industrial Welds

Our welding laboratory can tests your weld coupons with bend tests, tensile testing and impact testing for low-temperature applications.

A Weld Engineer can help you with understanding your problems that are plaguing your field welds or shop welds.  Whether you are experiencing problem with MIG (GMAW) Gas Metal Arc Welding, TIG (GTAW) Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Stick (SMAW) Shielded Metal Arc Welding, SAW Submerge Arc Welding or Brazing an engineer can solve your problems.

Do you have a ASME welder to be qualified?

Ship your welders coupon(s) with documentation and serialization

We will prepare the code specimen(s) from the coupon(s) by cutting and machining

We will complete the testing regime as required by the ASME Section IX Code.

We can ship the test specimens back with the examination results back with the certification form or photograph the results by incorporating them the certification form.

Any test results that do not pass are done at 20% off the original fee.

Weld Failure by Corrosion

Welds can fail catastrophically when corrosion is involved.  In the field these welds may not be readily observable to less skilled evaluator.  Different corrosion mechanisms may occur at the simultaneously.  Field evaluation may be inadequate.

Code Weld Question

Question: Can you give us a weld procedure so our welder can qualify to the ASME for us?

Answer: No!  The ASME Section IX Welding and Brazing code paragraph QW-300.2 points out that the welder's test coupon must be performed to the manufacturer's performance qualification record (PQR) not one supplied by a laboratory
